The short answer is no. Sari has designed courses specifically to accommodate those who have never picked up a paintbrush, such as Beginner 101, which complements the Foundations course to catch all painters up on the approach and style used at Not Sorry Art School. While these beginner-friendly courses are available, Sari also offers more advanced courses like Color Theory and Portraits, which cater to intermediate and advanced painters.

The curriculum is structured so that anyone, regardless of skill level, can progress through the courses. If you work through Beginner 101, the 7-Day Boot Camp, and Foundations, you'll gain the skills needed to tackle even the more advanced aspects of the courses. My goal is to ensure that both beginners and more experienced artists can benefit and see significant improvement. As long as you can keep up with an online course curriculum and maintain your interest, these courses are suitable for you.

The courses are self-guided, allowing you to progress at your own pace, whether that's a few videos a week or completing them in a few days. You'll have lifetime access to the videos, so you can watch and re-watch them whenever you need. As a lifetime member, you'll also receive new lessons to continue expanding your skill set.

There's no wrong way to work through the courses at Not Sorry Art School. Sari emphasizes that your choices should be motivated by your interests. Generally, we recommend starting with the Foundations course to get a solid understanding of the basic principles and Sari's painting approach. From there, navigate towards the courses that excite you the most.

Be sure to check out the master studies, as they're excellent for finding your personal style while developing new technical skills. The key is to follow your interests and enjoy the learning process.

To start painting with NSAS, you should have: 

• Brushes sized 6-12 in brights or flats, and a couple of big jars to wash them in. 
• A good starter paint palette could include: Titanium White, Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium Red, Cadmium Yellow Medium, Yellow Ochre, Hooker's Green, Chromium Oxide Green, Phthalo Blue, Prussian Blue Hue, Dioxazine Purple, and Quinacridone Magenta. Note: Sari prefers higher-end brands like Golden Acrylics and Liquitex Professional, but Basics will work as well. Don't worry about black or browns, you'll be learning to mix those! 
• Canvases or Acrylic Paper.

Additional nice-to-have items are outlined and described further in the courses, but this is a good start.
